Bossy Blog 2010 Fitness and Health Challenge: Just think about it.

by Sally

Attention, attention:

In less than a week, it will be 2010. The year's name alone (2010!) boggles the mind and it seems that we should all be zipping around in personal flight pods with silver jumpsuits and perfect bodies.

Hmm. Maybe we will all be driving these by the end of next year?

Well, I do have the silver jumpsuit, but my body isn't perfect. And I want to feel more fit and healthy. So I am asking you to join me in a challenge to set goals to improve your health and fitness for the coming year.

You don't have to commit now, but think about it. You can set a goal to start walking for fitness, get more sleep every night, eat more healthy food, start a running group, learn yoga, stop a bad habit (too much Diet Coke!), or run a half-marathon--whatever you want to do to improve your health and fitness. On or around New Year's Day, I will post a little more info and invite anyone who is up for it to comment with their personal fitness/health goals for 2010. We will encourage each other with monthly check-ins and lots of support and positive feedback! I hope you will join me.

We can be exercise buddies.

Can we all run a 1/2 marathon together?

I love this. I love fresh starts and I love doing things that feel good!

Count us in. The Austins are going to eat healthier! We got a jump start when Grandma and Grandpa bought us a years worth of broccoli and spinach! :) Truly, we needed it and are already working towards eating our colors!

Now to think about the fitness part... that is a must for both me and Dave...

Okay! Sally, I am pumped for this!

I resolve to do the full two-week YOU! on a Diet plan (Dr. OZ and Roizen). I have already begun a modified version today, but need to do the proper grocery shopping, and exercising to do it right.

There are many other resolves I have for the new year. I would love to share our goals together on this blog, so we can support each other and cheer each other on.

Let's be healthy, let's be fit!

Today I started by eating plain oatmeal for breakfast (with a scoop of raisins) and some light Dannon probiotic yogurt drink & an orange.

I ate a healthy lunch, and dinner. I ate healthy snacks (some fruit, 1/4 c. nuts, carrots, herbal tea and water).

I WANT CHOCOLATE AND ICE CREAM AND COOKIES DIPPED IN MILK! But, it feels good to eat healthy and cut out all that sugar. ;-)

Tomorrow I will go for a 30 minute walk.

P.S. the website for the YOU! docs is really awesome. it is realage.com

Real Age

It is a great resource! Their emails are excellent, and I actually read them!

Cheers!

I resolve to be nicer to myself.

I resolve to exercise at least 3 times a week.

I resolve to eat something that grows and is green everyday.

I resolve to get at least 7 hours of bed time per night (I often don't sleep well, so I'll settle for trying to sleep for 7 hours).

How's that?

Kristen, I like your resolves. I could just copy them, they seem just right.

Today I have done well. We had a primary breakfast, but I was sure to eat a smallish portion, and skip the muffin. (ooooh, muffins!)

I have done well with healthy snacks, I've been drinking a lot of herbal tea with a tiny drop of honey in it (it is cold outside). And I even had a piece of toast with peanut butter on top! It seems like a healthy, sensible thing. BUT I STILL WANT CHOCOLATE!

I am going to the store to buy very very dark chocolate, the kind that you only need a bite of--like 75% Caocao or whatever you call it. :)

I still need to do some exercise...uh oh. It is SO COLD outside (14 degrees this morning). How do you exercise when it is SO COLD outside? BLEH!
